my sister and her husband are moving to Fayetteville in the spring, two kids, one in 2nd and one starting middle school. they keep asking me which zones are good and I'm out in Greenland so I'm no help, different district

which elementary zones do you like? how much did the zone factor into picking your house? also curious about walkability to school and class sizes, and anything you wish you'd known before you bought. they're hoping to be near the Square side but not set on it

Ha, we're in Washington-Willow so I'm biased, but being able to walk or bike the kids to Washington Elementary has been a huge perk 🚲☀️ You see the same neighbors every morning, and after school you can cut over to the trails or the Square for ice cream 🍦🌳

My biggest tip is to check the zone with the district itself, not just the listing or the realtor. Boundaries have shifted before when new schools opened. And the middle school zone is its own thing, so look at both, because the elementary and middle for one address don't always line up how you'd guess 😅

Class sizes change year to year, so once they pick a neighborhood I'd call the school and ask. Principals around here are pretty friendly about it 👍

Welcome to your sister's family in advance!! Spring is a great time to land here 🌸🌸
