Veterans Day parade downtown this year?

Does anyone know if the Veterans Day parade is happening downtown this year, and what time to be there? We showed up last year and caught maybe the back half of it. Parked over by the Square, walked up, and everybody was already lined up several deep with the floats going by. Felt bad, the kids were bummed.

I keep seeing different things, so I don't want to guess. Is it still Veterans Day itself (Wednesday the 11th) or did they move it to a weekend? And does anybody know roughly where it kicks off vs. where it ends up? I'd rather be early and stand around in the cold than miss the start again.

Weather's looking chilly from what I can tell, so I'll bring the heavy jackets and a thermos either way. If anybody's been to a bunch of these, tell me where to park and where to stand so we can actually see. Thanks y'all

not sure on the time, i think it was mid morning last yr but dont quote me. city page should have it. we live off dickson so we just walk up, parking by the square fills up fast tho. get ther early if you want the front

Thanks Jordan, mid morning is about what I remembered too, which is probably why we were late. Living off Dickson is the move, I'm jealous. We'll probably park a few blocks out and walk in instead of fighting for a spot by the Square, and get there way earlier than seems necessary.

I'll check the city page tomorrow and post back if I find an actual start time. If anyone else knows where it kicks off, that'd help too. Kids are already asking about it so I can't miss it twice.

we're over by gulley park so we drive in and park a few blocks off the square too. the spring street deck has worked for us when the street spots are gone, but i'd double check that's open before counting on it. i don't remember the exact start either, so i'd go with the city page over what any of us half remember.

if you're early anyway, grab a coffee somewhere on the square and stake out a spot on the curb. kids do better with a hot chocolate in hand. and i'd pick a spot along the route rather than right at the end, since the crowd thins out as it goes. report back if you find the time!
